("We," "Our," or "MemoMate") values your privacy as a user ("You") of our digital platforms, including memomate.app and our additional services for creating and sharing memoirs ("Services"). We pledge not to sell, lease, or disclose any identifiable personal details—like your name, address, email, or credit card information—to any third party unless you have given prior informed consent. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy. By engaging with MemoMate's platforms or Services, you agree to the collection and use of data as outlined in this policy. If there are any changes to this Privacy Policy, they will be posted on this page. MemoMate encourages users to periodically review this page to stay updated on our current privacy practices. Should we plan to use your personally identifiable information in a way that differs from this policy, you will be notified via email to gain your explicit consent.

TYPES OF DATA COLLECTED

For MemoMate Services: Upon registration, we gather your contact and demographic information such as your first, middle, and last name, email address, physical address, city, state, country, postal code, and date of birth. However, only your first name, last name, and email address are mandatory for completing the memomate.app membership form ("Membership Data").

For Participants via Distribution Partners: We collect similar contact and demographic details through online methods. Additional information such as contact details for family or friends ("Contacts"), your interests, or veteran status may also be collected. The type of information varies based on the specific conversation engagement. Conversations may also be recorded for quality assurance, training purposes, and providing caregivers with actionable mood assessments.

Personal Entries: You may also provide details when you respond to queries about your memories and ideas within memomate.app or any affiliated applications ("MemoMate Information"). Email addresses of friends and family may also be collected to facilitate sharing your created memoirs ("Shared Contact Information").

Transactional Data: When making a purchase, you, or someone to whom you have provided your member ID and viewing password, will need to submit identifiable information such as billing and shipping addresses ("Purchase Data").

Aggregate Information: We also amass generalized data about our user base which we extract from Membership, Purchase, and other data ("Aggregate Data"). This data outlines general user activity patterns and demographics but will not be used to identify individual users.

HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT FROM MEMOMATE PLATFORMS

Personalized Experience on MemoMate: The Membership Data you provide on memomate.app and affiliated applications are used to offer a tailored, user-friendly experience. After logging in and entering your Membership Data, you gain access to your password-protected area where you can create and view your personalized memoir. This data is also used to target relevant promotions or advertisements specifically to you within our platforms. We don't share your Membership Data with third parties. Advertisers provide us with advertisements and specify the type of audience they want to target (e.g., males over 50). We then display these ads only to users meeting these criteria.

Communication and Updates: We use your Membership Data to send you a monthly MemoMate newsletter, periodic email updates, announcements about new features, and promotional offers from MemoMate or third parties that may interest you. These communications are sent only by MemoMate or agents operating under confidentiality agreements with MemoMate. Since active participation is a requirement for using MemoMate services, a monthly MemoMate newsletter will be sent to you. If you wish to unsubscribe from the newsletter, you may cancel your MemoMate membership by emailing your request to info@memomate.app, which will result in the deletion of your account and associated content.

Optional Promotions: Newsletters, promotional offers, and third-party promotions, apart from our monthly newsletter, are optional. You can email info@memomate.app to opt-out of these optional communications.

Participants via Distribution Partners: Data collected from participants via distribution partners is primarily through online registration. If necessary, we may contact the family or friend ("Contacts") you provide if we have concerns about your well-being, or to provide caregivers with actionable mood assessments. However, the content of the discussion topics will not be disclosed to the Contacts.

Usage of Quotes and Stories: Occasionally, we may ask for your permission to feature a quote or story from a MemoMate conversation on our blog or website. We will proceed only if we receive your written consent; verbal consent is not acceptable. Your permission will not be used to disclose protected health information.

Health and Survey Information: For survey results that contain personal or health-related data, either initiated by us or on behalf of a partner, we will only share individual results if operating under a business associate agreement compliant with HIPAA regulations. All other personal or health-related data will be either aggregated or de-identified.

Government and Subsidiary Entities: In cases where the entity interacting with us is a government entity or has subsidiaries, non-protected health information (non-PHI) data may be shared with the related entity.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS INFORMATION ON memomate.app

When you decide to share stories you've created on MemoMate with your "Family & Friends" email list, those individuals will have access to the personally identifiable information in the stories you've granted them access to. They can also choose to purchase the stories (see Purchase Information). If these individuals do not make purchases through memomate.app, we do not use their personally identifiable information for any other purpose.

PURCHASE INFORMATION

If you decide to utilize memomate.app services to purchase merchandise (e.g., books, other items, or services), we will request credit card or other billing information. Your card will automatically be charged for shipping, handling, and all applicable taxes. We use this Purchase Information to process your order and to communicate with you about it. Additionally, this information may be used to send you promotional offers that may be of interest. You can opt out of receiving such emails by contacting us at info@memomate.app.

We contract an external company for the printing of hardcover books and for shipping completed orders. These companies do not retain, share, or use your personal information for any secondary purposes other than fulfilling your order.

WHO HAS ACCESS TO YOUR MEMOMATE OR A LOVED ONE'S MEMOMATE ONLINE?

MemoMate personnel may access your MemoMate stories to address service issues, ensure compliance with our Terms and Conditions, or to enhance the user experience.

Your account information is password-protected, and we strongly recommend that you do not share your password and that you change it regularly in the profile area of memomate.app.

If you are using a public or shared computer, we strongly advise you to close your browser when you've finished using MemoMate to prevent unauthorized access to your account.

MemoMate will never request your username, ID, or passwords in an unsolicited phone call or email. You may be asked for these details when you initiate contact with us and only if they're necessary to resolve a service issue.

LINKS TO OTHER SITES

If you navigate away from MemoMate to visit third-party sites, you may be requested to provide personal or financial information to purchase or use services. These companies have their own privacy policies, and MemoMate is not responsible for their practices. Please review their privacy policies if you have concerns.

INTERNATIONAL USERS

MemoMate platforms may be accessible globally and may refer to services and products not available in your country. This does not imply that we plan to offer these services in your location.
